My Story
Licensed in Virginia since 2016 and working in the counseling field since 2009, I have been serving the children, adolescents, and families in Orange and the surrounding counties in a variety of counseling capacities. In November 2020, I expanded the practice and opened a second location in Goochland county. Specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches, my services aim to bring clarity to the connection between one's thoughts, feelings, and behavioral choices. I received my Bachelors degree from James Madison University and went on to obtain a Masters in Counseling. Early career experience in Intensive In-home Counseling led to specialized training from trauma specialists. This allowed me to obtain my CSOTP to work with adolescents who have engaged in sexually harmful behaviors as well as with those who have experienced childhood trauma. When I am not working, I enjoy spending my time with my family, running, reading, and exploring the outdoors.
PLEASE NOTE:Beginning August 2021, I will no longer be seeing clients at my Orange location. This office location will be closing. Telehealth appointments might be an option for those interested and who reside outside of the Goochland area.
Services
Outpatient Counseling for Children, Adolescents, and Adults
Mental Health Outpatient
Weekly or bi-weekly sessions focused on the client's presenting issues. The client and I will create treatment goals based on the client's needs and will work together utilizing a variety of interventions needed to meet those goals. Family engagement is recommended when possible when the client is a child or adolescent. I work from a Structural Family Therapy foundation focusing on building appropriate balance to the family unit. Possible client issues can include trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse, life change, ADHD, or school challenges.
